How does it feel to dive deep into the wilderness of a digital jungle? Read below from our participant Kika and find out:
Right before Advent, we had the opportunity to experience the magic of the Polish side of the beautiful Tatra Mountains. Our group of young people and youth workers participated in a youth exchange titled "Young Explorers of the Digital Jungle." This Erasmus+ project aimed to help young people enhance their digital skills, with the program focusing on raising awareness about misinformation and the dangers of the digital world.
The activities we participated in were designed to make learning enjoyable. For instance, we explored some peculiar or unnecessary laws from various countries and created posters promoting anti-cyberbullying. Different groups also created surveys and asked people in Zakopane about their digital habits. This helped us gain a new perspective on the issue of excessive phone and computer use.
We shared information about our cultures through cultural evenings and informally during our free time as well. Since participants came from seven countries across Europe, the differences were sometimes striking. It was very funny to see misunderstandings when something seems normal to a Polish person but completely different in the eyes of an Italian.
New friendships were formed that will hopefully last for a very long time. It was also amazing that we could spend more time with people we already knew, giving us an opportunity to deepen our existing relationships. Overall, we are very happy that we attended this Erasmus+ project. We learned new things, developed valuable skills, and gained useful knowledge.
